Importing sky yahoo emails to gmail

Hi does anyone know if by importing sky yahoo emails to a gmail account means that the sky yahoo emails are deleted from the sky yahoo server or if they will still be visible when logging into sky yahoo?  Gmail have warned me that some providers delete the emails once they have been transferred to gmail.  
I would still want to keep using my sky yahoo email account for the time being so are there any risks that I won't if I did the import?

You would have the option depending on how you set up the import so what servers you use, for imap they should be left on the Sky Yahoo server but if using Pop then you have the option to either leave or delete them from the server.
