Sky needs to bring back the in-app password generator. Don't know why they would stop it for.

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
The app generator has been removed.
It was a serious security risk, and most modern apps/clients don't need it. (except Outlook Classic and Gmail )
What are you trying to use?

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
How was the in-app password generator a serious security risk though? It was designed so third-party apps could access email without giving them the main password.
I’m trying to use Apple Mail and now there doesn’t seem to be a way to set it up properly. If the old system was removed, what is the recommended way to connect Sky email to Apple Mail now?

Anyone who gained access to to a Sky email account (usually by a phishing email) could generate a password, and from then on they would have continuous access to the account, as there was no way to rescind/revoke the generated password.
When setting up Apple mail, it should be possible to select it as a Yahoo account, and the standard password should work.
Are you using a Mac or an iOS device?

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
This has happened to me, email hacked... hacker mass sent my server settings and app password to random emails now I have no way of kicking them off my account.
These people or bots are sending hundreds of emails per day from my account!

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
@MrChopper420 To add Sky/Yahoo mail to Apple Mail choose the Yahoo option then enter your sky email & password, it should ask you to verify the account by taking you to the Yahoo sign in page where you enter your Sky account details to verify, once complete you'll be returned to finish setup.
I don’t work for Sky.
If I have helped then please leave a like.

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
eh, how can I find it? Are you saying they've brought back the ability to remove app passwords?

No, but you can generate them again. Wonder how long it will last?

Re: IN-APP PASSWORD BRING IT BACK
They brought it back a few days ago, my accont has been hacked because of it and no way stop the hacker sending emails because I can't delete the app password 😞

That is the problem with generated app passwords, once someone has one there is no way of stopping them accessing the email account.
I assumed that was why they removed the ability to generate them, so I'm shocked that they are back.
We really need a way to allow us to revoke them, like we used to have.

Why would you want it on Android, most apps shouldn't need it.
