Email after cancelling broadband

Hi all

I'm thinking about binning broadband and going Starlink ....quite frankly whilst the service has always been below the promised 50Mb ish, ( I get just under 30Mb) , recently it has started to get really flakey...lots of buffering going on and occasionally Disney+ etc drop out.

My only main concern is that my wife still uses her @Sky.com email address ( the one run by Yahoo) and doesnt want to move it.

I had heard that even if we bin the broadband service, the mail continues to work .....

Has anyone got any definitive info on this....I dont want to move only to find her email stops .

cheers

Guy

If you change broadband providers the Sky email will continue as long as the email account is used fairly regularly.

As @Daniel0210 has said you get to keep access to the email account but you do need to login to the Sky website on a regular basis to access it like once per month.

Re: Email after cancelling broadband

What about if you only access it from your Iphone via the IOS mail client, and never actually login to the sky portal on a browser ?

Come to think of it...I dont think she has ever logged in to Sky...she just uses the Iphone and its mail client to access her sky mail ?

Probably still OK, yhough I don't think we've seen confirmation here. Perhaps best to set up a reminder to log in via a browser once a month.

She might be OK because if she did need to login to the website she would receive an email so if she has never done this then she might be OK but should ever receive such an email then she would need to do this.

The T&C's simply state it will remain active as long as you use it. It doesn't state the required method of use.

If it's worked thus far with just iOS access, I'm sure that will be fine.

There is nothing that says you need an active broadband account.
