Can't 'go to basic mail' (necessity for visually impaired)

I'm visually impaired and really need basic mail for accessibility.  Following Aug '23 upgrade when I click  'go to basic mail' on the 'can you tell us why' box nothing happens.  I can laboriously close mail and reload and basic mail is there.  But then when I delete a mail it reverts to non basic.  Please, please help

Have you tried using a different web browser ?

I don't know of an Aug'23 upgrade (are you sure it wasn't a scam email?) and I don't know where the 'can you tell us why' box is, but this is where I would change to basic mail, and it stays in basic until I choose to revert back.

But do try a different browser as suggested by @caesarome
