I am using Firefox with Sky Yahoo for my emails. A few months ago the autofill worked well in the compose cell, just typing in the first two letters of the email address would bring up a list of possible emails for me to chose from, and also associated email addresses.
I have tried retyping the whole email address again manually and sending a new email to the recipient, not from the contacts list, but it still does not autofill the next time I want to send them an email. Most of the email addresses that I use are still in the contacts , top and all , but finding some of them takes a bit of time as they are using complicated addresses. What is happening ?. This was a good system, but has now lost a valuable setting somehow ?. Can I get autofill back either from receiving an email or sending one ?.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt might be the result of a Firefox add-on you're using. The Duck Duck Go privacy add-on seems to be the culprit for several malfunctions.
It's not an issue with Sky Yahoo Mail itself.

sorry for long delay. I have tried Microsoft Edge , it is the same, the autofill picks up on the first letter that I type in from the first 5 or so random addresses that contain the first letter somewhere in their email address. i.e. if I type in a j it will also show an email address like fredjblogs@ from several years ago but the addresses it picks up are not the most recent or most used . It also ignores addresses on a list, in case I want to email one person from a list.

It seems to get the addresses from emails that have been sent to you (i.e. from your inbox) but doesn't get those in your sent emails or contact list.
Typing a couple of extra characters narrows down the options.
If you want to use addresses in your contact list, it's probably easiest to have that open and select from there.
Personally I use an app/client for emails, it much more intuative.
