Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
Hi,
I marked an email as spam by mistake and then emptied my spam folder.
I've read that to undo this, I needed to mark that email as 'not spam' and all would be okay but can't do this as I'd emptied the spam folder already.
I have older emails from the same address and tried marking one as spam and then not spam but this hasn't worked.
I don't have any addresses listed as blocked in my settings.
Can anyone advise what I need to do to reverse my mistake please?
Thank you!

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
I'm not sure if emails are moved to your Deleted folder when you empty the Spam folder - it's worth a check.
Failing that, you could try Yahoo's recovery process here. I'm doubtful that it will work with the Spam folder, but again, you night want to try it:

Otherwise it has gone, I'm afraid.

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
@foxon Unless the email is in the deleted folder, as emptying the spam folder may put the emailes into the deleted folder, there isnt a way to get deleteted email back.

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
Thanks. Nothing in the deleted items but have submitted a request as suggested.
I don't care about getting that email back, but marking as spam and empyting that folder seems to have blocked all emails from that address now.
What I need to do is unblock that address for future emails if that makes any difference to potential solutions? I can't see any way to do that.

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
You could try setting up a filter saying that all emails from that address are sent to the inbox, it might be worth a try ?

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
Thank you for the reply. I did try that yesterday without success.
I get a few emails from this address around 9am every day so know that anything tried yesterday didn't work!
So I seem to have blocked all incoming emails from a particular address and just need to unblock that address so emails come through again.
Thank you for any help!

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
It might be worth trying this:
Settings > More Settings > Security & Privacy and delete the email address here if it is listed.

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
Thank you again. I have no addresses listed in blocked so nothing to delete.
I assume what I did is causing the emails to be stopped at an earlier point I don't seem to have access to, so the yahoo spam filter is stopping them?

Re: Accidentally marked an email as spam and emptied spam folder
Whatever is stopping you getting the emails, it won't be the spam filter, that will just put them in spam, not block them.
Unfortunately I can't imagine what else could be blocking them if they are not in your block list.
