trying to setup an asus RT-AC85P router

heelo can anyone help me i have an asus rt-ac85p wireless dual band gigabit rouer and i also have a server that im setting up to but im having problems  with getting the server to communect with my sky hub through the asus router any help will be ver much appreciated 

ps my sky hub SR203 one that i have and im on the superfast broadband

@stephen851 if you are connecting the Asus router behind a Sky hub you will have a double network translation system as Sky hub's lack a modem mode. Set up of the Asus should be simple as the Sky hub has authenticated the connection however a double NAT can cause issues with somecapps.

 

You can make a couple of changes to the Sky hub to simplify things first is pretty obviously to turn off its wifi. The second is to place the Asus in its DMZ which bypasses the Sky units firewall which should avoid the need to forward ports on both routers for your server to see incoming external connection requests.

 

You may find that your set up would be simplified by switching the Sky hub.for a cheap TP-Link modem router like the TD-W9970 which can be configured in bridge mode removing the double NAT issue.
