@mrcrabtree They are measuring different things.
The Sky test shows the speed that your router is connected to the exchange or cabinet(depending on your service), independent tests show the throughput to your device, this will always be slower in part due to unavoidable overheads(around 7% slower than the router speed) and interference if using wireless which can cause significantly lower speeds.
