I am having problems with my internet being very slow and intermittently disconnecting.
I have a ER115 box which is probably about 8 years old if not older.
I am based in llanelli, wales. I have 1 phone, 1 smart tv and 1 laptop connected. Can I get a new router from sky to help with the problem or what els can I do as the speed and disconnections are no longer acceptable or usable.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Joejoe2 the er115 is still the default hub supplied for Superfast services and there are few signs your's is faulty. Your connection is connected at 40Mb/s down and 7Mb/s up which while not great is probably the maximum for the product you buy. The speed a copper line can deliver is limited by its length and your line is quite long. Routers dont nedd replacing unless they are faulty they dont wear out Sky would swap your er115 for another one unless something has changed.
The connection to the hub reset roughly an hour before you took those stats and the hub restarted 10 hours before. If the hub is restarting on its own then that does indicate a fault similarly if the connection drops multiple times a day your line maybe faulty either need reporting. Restarting the hub yourself should be avoided as rather than speeding up the connection it can do the opposite.
Ideally a 40Mb/s connection can deliver 35Mb/s at your devices but you only use wifi to connect devices which almost certaibly explains your lower figure in the speedtest. These measure the slowest part of the connection from the device to the test server.. Wifi speeds depend on the layout, type of construction and the level of interference in your home. Having the hub out in the open above things like radiators etc will help.
Openreach are installing full fibre which when that reaches your address will give you access to faster and more reliable broadband..
