Why is my Sky fiber to premises broadband so slow l am on a 900mbps package and through my devices connected to the Wi-Fi l get 530mbps which is good been getting these good speeds for 4 months but know it's dropped to 186mbps l have complained to sky saying my downloads are really slow and l told them l done a Speedtest on line which which showed slow speeds and l told them l used Speedtest.net which they them selves advised They turned around and said we don't use a speed test up to speed test no good after months of using it don't make sense.
l have done a Speedtest today useing an Ethernet cable which l normally get 820mbps l done the same test again it showed 320mbps how is that right l be phoning sky tomorrow and be telling them about this still if they refuse to do anything just like they have been doing nothing l will be leaving tomorrow Sky them selves said to me you are free to go with out any plenty to pay anyone else having problems

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@mandip assuming your ethernet speed test was done when nothing else was using the network then it is reluable. There have been a numbrr of similar reports which some of the forum regulars have been highlighting to our contact at Sky. I will add your post to that collection. Don't expect instant sction but while numbers are small you are not alone in having this experience so something needs fixing.
continue to report your issue to Sky customer services but dont be too surprised if they seem puzzled ask them politely to report the issue and point them to this thread.

Hello,
im just wondering if any information has been passed down from sky about the speeds on GigaFast.
Would be good to know as I'm willing to wait for a fix but not forever 🙂

Thanks for the reply👍 Just contacted sky today they transferred me to sky tech just lucky l spoken to the right person he told me my line is ok but the problem is with my router so they sending me a new router out my router is nearly 4 years old so hopeful that fixes the problem

Hi l found this of great help l got iPhone when downloading file or game on sky boardband it took me 10min on 140mbps
internet connection the fastest is 8min to download a 4gb game on sky boardband
That changed
l download NORD VPN
know the same game which on sky boardband took me 8 to 10 min
with NORD VPN
it did it in 2min 30sec every time
