joining Sky Broadband
Hi All,
I have switched from Vodafone to Sky Broadband. I got an email saying the switch was happening on 2nd May, but it also said it was provisional and they'd "let me know once it's confirmed" - but we are now creeping towards that date and I've heard nothing more. I've also not had a router arrive yet. And there seems to be no way to speak to chat with someone or log in to check the status of the order.
Can anyone advise?

Re: joining Sky Broadband
@wallofbeans Why can you not login and check the order status on your sky account? Calling them does take time. and chat or e-mail is not an option. Router will be sent couple off days before so you have sometime to go before the 2nd May yet.

Re: joining Sky Broadband
Any ideas when I might get a confimration of the date? The only email I've had is the one that came immediately after signng up on 16th, and it mentions the date is provisional.. but just not a word from them since..

Re: joining Sky Broadband
It's odd that the email they sent mentions logging into my sky account (or the app) to check the status of my order, but that they haven't given me an account login - and didn't ask me to create one.
I just did that, and there is no reference to my order within it - but is that because the two things aren't connected (yet)??

Re: joining Sky Broadband
@wallofbeans All the details if you are not getting them via e-mail, will be in the My Messages section of your Sky ID account. If you do not have it setup correct, or there is an issue with such call SKY.
Sky's system is pretty rebust, but you do need a sky id, and linked to your Broadband or whatever accounts you have!

Re: joining Sky Broadband
Ah - going to that setting up SKY ID link then sent me to a page where it asked me to give my postcode -- and suddenly I can see my broadband order! Thank you!
Why did they not send me anything about this?? It is crazy that I have to figure this out like this!!

Re: joining Sky Broadband
I can share my experience here.
My activation is expected 29th April so a few days before yours and I was also getting worried no sign of router. The order status showed no movement and customer service overseas where reading from a script.
But to my suprise the router was posted on Thu and turned up by Royal mail Fri. I also received a text message from Openreach this morning confirming the appointment 1pm to 6pm.
Based on my experience you should receive the router next week Wed or Thu. I was told by customer service its a next day service by DPD...but thats **bleep**. It was posted using Royal Mail 48h and it was a bit of luck arrived early. Could be a bit of drama if Royal Mail post delayed.
If they use DPD thats normally reliable next day but also cost more for Sky.

Re: joining Sky Broadband
Thanks for that - I got a text on Monday saying the router was on the way, and it arrived (via Royal Mail) on Tuesday. So all good router-wise.
The issue was more that they never told me the activation date was confirmed, they never told me I needed a SKY ID or that I needed to connect it to my order. I got one email from them, the day I signed up, and that is it.
I contacted them through 'X' and they said that I should have had more info and that they will look into it. I even screenshotted the one email I got that had none of this information on it. The only way I figured any of it out is by asking on here!
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly when it switches over on Friday.
Thanks again!

Re: joining Sky Broadband
Hope it goes well for you. As you switching from Voda you already have the FTTP installed. I needed new cables and the 2 youngs guys did a pretty decent job.. mind you I did prepare everything for them including the hold on the wall.
The internet was activated soon after they spliced the cable outside.
