email saying my broadband network has been updated

Hi can someone help me as I think it seems fishy !! Ive receved an email from "Sky" asking me to clink on a link to upgrade my broadband to fibre optic its asking for my log in details 

 

Is this a scam ?

Possibly, yes.  It's safer to go to manually go to sky.com and log in there.

If the email starts with "Dear User" or similar then it will be a scam as emails from Sky would use your first name. If have not placed an upgrade order for your broadband then this would be another reason to suspect this email is a scam one.

I had an email from Sky today saying you home is now full fibre ready and button to switch now. 

It said Hello 'myname' so no reason to think it's dodgy. 

 

When I click on the switch now button it takes me to the Sky site which then tells me I'm already on the fastest speed for my address.
