@benhines

My understanding is that it remains on your Sky account as credit. However, if you cancel your subscription before it's used up any remaining credit would be reimbursed to you a few weeks later.

Re: auto compensation

Thanks for your reply ! Just seems strange that the lady on WhatsApp said to message when I received the compensation and they would look at refunding it for me

@benhines

Well if that was by a Sky employee see what happens doing that. It seems you asked the question after being told that so you obviously weren't convinced.

Re: auto compensation

No I asked the question because I saw some people saying different and it wouldn't be the first time a sky employee has told me the wrong thing. Your sarcasm is excellent though

@benhines The OfCom rules state it will remain on your bill as a credit unless you agree otherwise, so you can call Sky and ask for it to be paid in to your bank account, especially given the amount and how long it will take to use.

@benhines  As @daveNOS mentioned you can ask sky but the ofcom guidelines is something along the lines of

compensation will be paid via account credit unless both parties reach agreement beforehand for it to be paid via other means

so the question is did you raise this before the credit was applied to your account

Re: auto compensation

Yes I asked them this on the 30th October and the compensation was applied today, it was a vague answer when I asked I was told : we can look at refunding it to you when it is on your account ,when you get the notification let us know and we can organise that for you .  Problem is there shut till tomorrow and I was just concerned because this money would be a godsend for Christmas

Re: auto compensation

Hello just wondering if you did manage to get it paid into your account as I'm currently going through the same thing I was told I could have the compensation paid into to personal account but the last sky operater I spoke to said it can't be and will just go into my account as credit

thanks guys

@Markyboy3
It’s applied 30 days after the fault has been repaired and will come in the form of a credit appearing on your Sky account (from 01/04/24 the rates are £9.76 per day). There is no equivalent scheme in place for customers in the Republic of Ireland.

Re: auto compensation

Yes I understand that but can I get the compensation paid into my personal account not my sky account as it's my compensation and it's just under £1000 I don't want it just say in my sky account

thankyou

@Markyboy3

My understanding is that whilst you're still a customer it can only be credit on your Sky account but see post 8 above from @SKY1992bf
