My Xbox Series S just won't connect to the WiFi. The router and console are within a foot of each other, everything else connects, I've tried resetting both and entering the password multiple times, Sky Shield is turned off.

Find out more@Dw198 if the units are as close as a foot the most obvious solution is to simply use an ethernet cable which is always the preferred connection method for gaming. If you really have to use wifi factory reset the console as the memory location for the connection could be corrupted.

I have ordered an Ethernet cable but I'd like to be able to use the WiFi for now. I also move my Xbox around the house so need it to access WiFi.

Find out more@Dw198 if other devices are connecting properly tell the Xbox to forget the Sky connection power down and then reboot and try again but check you are entering the passcode exactly as on the hub's label it is easy to misread a letter as a number or vice versa.
Seriously ethernet is far better for gaming simply because it is immune from interference and glitches which can cause excess latency.
