Xbox wireless connection and game downloads

My son git an Xbox for Christmas. It wont connect wirelessly so had to use an ethernet connection then it  took almost 3 hrs to download load a game. I have super fast connection. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get wifi connected as i need to move the device to a different room from where the router is

If 'Superfast' is over FTTC, the national average speed is around 55Mbs.  To download a 60GB game at that speed would take around three hours.
