Upgraded from Sky partial fibre (70mb) to full fibre (500mb) a few months ago. Son's complain their online gaming is now much worse after the upgrade - "continuous high ping". I've also noticed that I cannot now log in to one of my online web accounts (web page will not load - get either "failed to fetch" or "failed to load" messages. This actual site is in Ireland - don't think it should make a difference - eir.ie. Other site log in's work fine. When I run speedtest the ping results seem fine (15ms) and wifi over 300mb. The new router Sky provided on the upgrade was model SR203. This router has a lot better range than my old one (get wifi in back garden which I could not under the old router). I ran the checks availabe on the Sky site and everything is reported fine. Any thoughts/advice appreciated. Best, Steve

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf your tests are showing a good ping & good speed it is likely that your Son's are suffering WiFi issues related to gaming, this can often be solved by using ethernet/powerline to connect the consoles.
As for the site you cant access, have you tried disabling your Sky Shield? Does the site load on mobile data?

Thanks James for the suggestions. I disabled the Sky Shield and in made no difference to my logging in to my.eir, although I could log in to it via my mobile network - hence you are on to something. Xbox connections now fine as per my boys so likely it was xbox servers.
Cheers, Steve
