A kind of follow up of my first post. been having this problem for weeks where my router is blocking traffic to my xbox occainsonally even after port forwarding and setting my xbox as a DMZ. The main problem is Teredo Tunneling with ipv6 and sometimes overall traffic. i have tried combinations with UPnP DMZ and port forwarding and i have also tried all of those on their own. Ventured into the router's settings abit more and i cant seem to find anything to do with Teredo.
I know Sky mostly works on ipv4, but cant they have the slightest support for ipv6 other than the flick of a switch? i even had to fully disable my firewall and im still not getting a proper connection through to my xbox because more than half of the traffic is getting blocked by something.
I dont want to have a go at sky about it because its only one device. but now its harder to use online because I get limited use ever since they took away a ton of settings on the new sky boxes (which I have no idea why they did) I have had a ton of problems trying to set up the devices
Already had a post on this problem here but after a few days I got nothing useful.
Would really appreciate help with this as its been ongoing throughout this month and its christmas soon so I dont want to be carrying on up to the new year.

Not sure I can offer any more help. Sorry.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@ScottG556 Sky do offer IP6 support unless you have turned off the setting on your hub in Advanced/LAN IP setup.
Quite why you are getting the error is unclear if that setting is on. From this page it is possible the error message is confusing you as it can appear due to network issues internally rather than being a firewall/IP addressing problem. If it is appearing when you are using the DNZ I would look at any devices between the hub and the console.
There is an expert on IP6 who is on the forum when they are not too busy, @-rpnz- can you help?

Posted by a Sky employeeHi @ScottG556 ,
The default settings on the Sky Hub should already have everything you need for your Xbox. You don't need to use the DMZ or even setup any manual port forwarding.
UPnP is enabled by default, so the Xbox should be able to automatically open up port 3074 over IPv4, the caveat to this is if you happen to have multiple Xbox consoles (including the older models), they all try to use the same port, which cannot be forwarded to multiple devices. If you do have multiple, make sure the ones you're not using are all completely powered off so they don't attempt to steal the port.
Next, as you pointed out, the Xbox does make use of IPv6, which Sky supports. Again, you should not need to add any firewall rules for this, the Sky Hub by default allows what's required for the Xbox to use peer2peer over IPv6. (IPsec)
I can only recommend factory resetting your Sky Hub to get it back to defaults and to clear out any customisation you may've done.

I have already tried a FR several times and if its something to do with that then i dont know what im doing wrong. I already tried to port forward the xbox and that has failed. IP6 has been enabled throughout but my router isnt letting traffic through to my xbox. Sometimes my NAT fails or is unavailable on my xbox so something is going wrong with the connection
Im not having a go at you personally. Just abit frustrated that i cant find a way to rerout traffic without it being blocked. If I need to set my IP range outside of DCHP I can do so. If nothing works then I'll pay for a new one if needed.
I set up some 6in4 rules if that works.
23 Dec 2020 02:03 PM
The reasoning for setting 6in4 up is because xbox can run on that. Sorry I wasnt more descriptive. I have tried ethernet from my router to the xbox.
Info:
Sky: SR203
Broadband: Superfast
Connections(s): Wired and Wireless
Tried: WAN (DMZ), Port Forwarding (Also 6in4), UPnP and disabling my firewall

Tried a few more things @-rpnz- @Chrisee and nothing has resolved the problem. I know its something to do with My NAT type and teredo. In my other post here I have a screenshot showing that servers are being blocked and that teredo is unable to qualify. and port forwarding doesnt fix the issue as to my knowledge. Im not the best in this kind of stuff so help would be appreciated.
I also had a post on the Microsoft Xbox forums here And a follow up post here
23 Dec 2020 06:56 PM
Already tried several FRs and nothings changed @-rpnz- @Chrisee Port forwarding doesnt make any difference and the whole reason I looked into the settings was because it was messing up. I did a connection test through pc settings and as it said in a screenshot on my other post, Teredo fails to qualify and servers are apparently blocked even when Port Forwarded. I get xbox errors pointing towards my NAT and Teredo when im using it.
Is there anywhere I can change these ipv6 settings?

alright then. might get a different sky box to tackle the problem

Hi did you ever get this fixed ? I have had the same problem for over 18months now. New routers etc only way I can get open NAT is no FW rules UPNP enabled and choose a manual port on the Xbox other than 3074. Port 3074 just does not open. I know it's not the Xbox as if I tether to my iPhone everything is all good.

I also would love to know if this was ever resolved. Ive got 3 Xbox One X 's and a Series X in our house. The Xbox says everything is fine, Nat Open, etc etc. However my son has issues getting a good connection on Siege and i get kicked off Sea of Thieves every hour or so and every other game i start fails to load with resetting the game.
Ive got all ports setup, ive even got each console assigned to a differnet pirt than 3074 as the lastest dashboard updates allow for a larger number of ports to be used and manually assigned to the console in the network settings.
Everything checks out but connection issues persist.
Sky should consider a gaming router in this day and age, especially considering the popularity of gaming during this pandemic.
Something built into the router settings that not only automatically detects the consoles (Xbox, PS, PC or Switch) but configures the ports and ip addresses and unlocks anything also need to be allowed in the firewall settings.

The router does have such a facility for opening ports automatically its called UPnP and it's up to the game console to use it and they do in most cases.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreMost consoles dont require any sort of configuring they just work with UPnP as @mae-3 mentioned.
Are you connecting these devices via ethernet or WiFi? I bet your connection issues are down to poor WiFi rather than ports needing to be opened.
Regarding your suggestion for a gaming router, this is pretty absurd to be honest. Sky are a budget, domestic ISP with millions of customers that wont have an inch of interest in gaming. It would be in no way cost effective for them to work specifically towards gamers and would in the end just force prices up. If you are an avid/pro gamer you should be getting your own 3rd party gaming router.

Hiya!
I'm having the same problem since I got Sky Booster 4. And the only way to get connected is to restart hub.
Is there any way to fix it? Everything was working just fine before, my connection issues started literally few days ago...

For some reason my photo didn't upload, sorry.
"Can't get a Teredo IP address.
Make sure UDP 3544 isn't blocked on your router"
@-rpnz- , this problem first started after I got Sky Booster 4, and the only way to get connected is to restart hub. I know it doesn't take long to do that, but I'm not the only person using internet. Besides, before I got booster, everything was working just fine.
