If your Xbox is receiving a poor WiFi signal despite being close to the WiFi extender, here are some suggestions:
- Check the Extender Placement: Ensure the WiFi extender is placed in an open area away from obstructions and electronic devices that could cause interference.
- Reduce Interference: Look for devices like microwaves, Bluetooth gadgets, or cordless phones nearby that might be causing interference, and move them further away from the extender.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes simply restarting the Xbox, WiFi router, and extender can resolve connectivity issues.
- Switch Channels: Access your router settings to switch to a less congested WiFi channel, especially if there are many networks nearby.
- Firmware Update: Ensure both your router and WiFi extender have the latest firmware updates.
- Network Settings: Consider checking the Xbox network settings for any incorrect configurations or reset its network settings to default.
- Check Bandwidth: Confirm that other devices aren't using excessive bandwidth, which could impact the Xbox's connection speed.
