Hi,
When I run broadband or wifi test I consistently get somewhere around 70mbs download speed and no issues flagged. However, once I start playing PS5 online I get very poor performance with unstable connection. My ping constantly goes above 100 with very high packet loss. We tested it across several games and all had poor performance so clearly not a game server issue. We tried all simple troubleshooting steps (restart console and router, use wired connection etc) and nothing helped. These issues persist for the past week or so for every single day.
We also feel it while streaming high resolution videos. When I launch a video on youtube it auto selects 480 whereas 70mb wifi should easily pull 1080.
When I called Sky support I couldn't get through to human agent but the bot said that we have issues with our broadband setup. Not sure how accurate this info is but could be a reason for such a poor performance.
Appreciate if anyone can advise how to get it fixed asap. Thank you!

That is the nature of WiFi as the signal travels through the air it will be reflected, interfered and will cause latency issues. The only solution is to ethernet wire the equipment to the router, if one cannot run an ethernet cable then ethernet over powerline adapters may be a solution if home wiring is good enough in the building.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@LondonHP while you have ample bandwidth for both gaming and streaming it sounds like the signal is not very stable something referred to as jitter. Both activities need the data packets to arrive in sequence where one goes missing the app has to pause until it turns up. WiFi always has higher jitter as it is affected by interference. That is why for gaming it is recommended to connect the device by direct Ethernet cables.
If using cables is not practical the next best system is probably using powerline adapters which send data over the mains wiring. Lastly depending on the layout and type of cobstruction of your home is upgrading the WiFi to WiFi6 as newer routers can use a wider range of 5GHz channels than the older black Sky hubs. The new Sky WiFi Max hub is an example this comes with the WiFi Max package but I must stress it requires your home to be 5GHz friendly ie not having sloud internal walls as the higher 5GHz signals have limited range.
Last point if you have multiple people (say 4 or 5) all using your connections at once then the Sky hub can be the cause of delays as it has no way of prioritising your gaming data over another user.

Thanks for the advice.
I mentioned in my intial post that I've already tried wired connection and it hasn't chnaged anything.
I get how wifi works. The thing is nothing was chnaged in the past week. Everything worked fine before. The distance between router and PS5 is 3-4 meters. It just suddenly stopped working. And I tried it in different conditions, even when no one else is at home and it still doesn't work. I'm considering of switching the provider because this is the first time I have this issue. I've owned PS5 for almost 4 years and used it in different flats with different broadband providers and never had such issues. Yes sometimes connection will be weak which is fine. But this time, every single game for every single day for the past week is just lagging constantly.

Appreciate your answer Chrisee!
Please see my previous reply to another advice. What I don't understand is why it suddenly stopped working. Everything was fine before. I live in my current place for over a year now and only now started to experience this. And as I mentioned already, this happens every day and for every game for the past week or so. It’s not like one day it's fine and another it's doesn't work. My in-game connection is consistently bad. There must be some underlying issue causing this otherwise I can't explain sudden deterioration in connection.
