Wifi straight away

Hi,

Does anyone know if i can connect to wifi straight away? Sky customer service line is just a facade, it's non-existant and nobody actually works there. They have sent us a sky q box, i have no idea why they just didnt bring this with the engineer but i need wifi soon. The engineer is booked for the 17th July & i cant wait that long...

@Sarah478  If you place an order for Broadband the minimum lead time is 10 working days on the Openreach network, this is set by the network owner themselves.

No ISP can connect you "straight away" as that just is not possible.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Sarah478 EE can't connect anyone to a broadband service next day, they use the same infrastructure as Sky and are subject to the same timescales. They may have provided a mobile solution for a temporary connection, Sky do not offer that.

That's strange, as hundreds if not thousands get through every day. Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

If you are a new Sky Q customer Sky do indeed send the engineer with the box, remote, cables, any mini boxes ordered and a dish if your house hasn't already got one. Are you sure it's a Sky Q box?

As the others have stated the lead in time is a minimum of 10 working days but is quite often longer depending on what work needs to be carried out by Openreach prior to activation.
