@Julie100 Suggest that you run the service checker, take a look around when on it, and also run the diagnostic.

Re: Wifi slow speed on gb fibre
@Julie100 what does the last 30 day's show, the speed to the hub should be up in the 900mb/s range. And you really need to Ethernet speed test, to at least get a baseline. Run the speed test and capture the image with Ethernet. Picture should look like below when cleared for viewing.

Re: Wifi slow speed on gb fibre
only fitted on tuesday and speed to the hub is the minmum 675 which again is a rip off . so we will never see the speed we are paying for.

Re: Wifi slow speed on gb fibre
@Julie100 You would be better to contact sky and have them run a diagnostic from there end.

Re: Wifi slow speed on gb fibre
@Julie100 it is possible there is an issue with your hub or line but in practice these are actually extremly rare as full fibre is far more reliable technolgy than VDSL over copper. Something is clearly wrong if a direct ethernet cable from a gigabit equipped PC is showing speeds as low as you report. However things like powerline adapters etc in the connection can easily restrict throughput so make sure it is a direct cable. When talking to Sky keep to the speeds over ethernet as wifi issues are so common Sky will assume those are the issue as in the vast majority of cases they are..
Sky run a daily test on the speed of the connection to the hub which you will find in the service checker in the My Sky app if you click on the last result it will give you the results for the previous month there is nothing to duggest these results are not correct. It is important to realise you are buying a connection that will deliver up to 900Mb/s but you are not going to get that full bandwidth all the time as you are sharing a connection with up to around 30 other people on your local distribution point. This isnt Sky being mean its simply how the full fibre system Openreach operates works to enable reasonable costs. Sky have a guarantee of a minimum of 600Mb/s if your speed falls below that for 3 continous days then they will refund one months payment. .

Re: Wifi slow speed on gb fibre
yep ok but howmany people connect through direct ethernet ? Wifi has never been a problem in 7 years on the old copper wires we got full speed 24/7 . Now on fibre the same router is giving really poor speeds

Anyone who values a fast stable connection and any keen gamers who know their stuff. WiFi has its place but will never titally replace wred connections.
