Wifi dropping out

My WiFi keeps dropping in and out, but when I use the sky app to check it says everything is fine. Any suggestions. Thanks

Same for me! Every 5 minutes or so.

Re: Wifi dropping out

This has been happening to me for weeks intermittently. An engineer supposedly fixed the issue remotely and it was ok for a day before being back to dropping out numerous time throughout the day and the 'internet' icon on my hub turning orange or flashing orange.

Hopefully someone can help us!

Re: Wifi dropping out

I've got exactly the same. Most devices (Sky Q and Q Mini, Alexa, printer) won't pick up the WiFi but all the Sky diagnostics say it's fine

Re: Wifi dropping out

Same happening here too. Very frustrating. Rang sky. They did a remote check and talk through router reset. It hasn't helped

Re: Wifi dropping out

I have this too and even pay more for the new max box thing! (I think that's what its called, the white "faster box") Now I get slower speeds and get the same answer! I get speeds of 20 mbps max (ironically!) Where I used to get at least 22 mbps! Also next door were on the same package as me and would get 44mbps like I should have got! Now my lows speed guaranteed speed has dropped too 18mbps also! Don't pay for the new max stuff its rubbish!

Re: Wifi dropping out

My internet has been dropping on and off all afternoon and, like everyone else, no reports of any problems. What's going on Sky?

Re: Wifi dropping out

We are experiencing the same issue and interested to see any helpful responses. Recently switched to sky and now all apps on TV constantly buffering, this is supposedly a faster speed than previous provider but we never had an issue with them.

Re: Wifi dropping out

Interestingly I  ended up disconnecting the powerline and this instantly resulted in better wifi.

Anyone else got powerlines?

Could they be causing interference?

@Jon_H  Depends if they have Wi-Fi built in. Some don't and are just used for the function of extending the use of ethernet cables.

Re: Wifi dropping out

Mine were not wifi ones. I installed them to help provide a stable connection to the sky q box. However I suspect the knock on effect was interference with sky wifi

The manufacturer (TP) suggest updating the powerline firmware to resolve such issues.

@Jon_H  Have TP link powerline adapters myself and never have any issue with Wi-Fi in the time I have used them.

Re: Wifi dropping out

Yes. Could well be coincidence but unplugging them resulted in immediate restoration of stable wifi. I'll try plugging them in again to see if the problem comes back!
