Wifi dropping out every evening after 10pm

I'm hoping someone can help me.

My sky router repeatedly drops out EVERY EVENING after 10pm.  Or at least I believe it's the router. Sometimes it drops and reconnects so quickly that I don't have time to check the router lights. Other times the router lights are all still on, but my phone switches to 5g and the sky box tells me there's a connection issue.

I'm usually watching sky via a mini box at this point in the evening, and every time it happens, I have to reset the main box (at least once), reboot the router (at least once) and reboot the mini (at least once)... that's several trips up and down the stairs which isn't ideal for someone with a disability.

This has been an ongoing problem for a long time now. It'll fix itself at some point, be fine for 6 months, and then starts all over again and I'm absolutely fed up with it.

Please advise on how to stop this. The last time I spoke to sky support on the phone, they told me they no longer provided boosters, but I'm not getting the service that I'm paying (quite an extortionate amount) for.

I'm at the point where I feel like leaving sky is my only option.

@5142Katie there are several potential causes which require investigation but causes of intermittent faults are very hard to find. Your issue could be something causing interference which afftedts the  WiFi signal. While it could be outside your home it is actually more likely to be something inside.it is worth considering if you turn on something around the time you get the problem. Any equipment that uses wireless are the modt likely but in the past microwave ovens and faulty strip lights have been found the cause the issue.

The problem enginerrs gave is unless the fault happens when they are on site they are guessing as to the cause. Boosters can help but often cause as many issues as they solve.

Re: Wifi dropping out every evening after 10pm

Thank you. I have a feeling this will be my last year using sky, and it turns out my contract is now up for renewal.

Funnily enough, it 'crashed' at 1pm today, too.

Yes, you're correct regarding they'll only be able to do something if the fault happens when an engineer is actually here to witness it. Which is kind of frustrating as its an intermittent fault.
