Re: Wifi drop

@Daveyboii570 You are only seeing the two channels, NO other names around channel 40 would be fine, the -db is just the signal strength lower is better so you are fairly close to were the sky hub is with those figures....

I use Asus router's and will not allow my 5Ghz to go above 100 160Mhz wide, after that it becomes unstable and not a lot off devices can work up that high in the frequency channel ranges... But the sky Max is AUTO and cannot be fixed.....

Re: Wifi drop

The thing is it was all fine and worked flawlessly for months then one day it just sort of messed up its been like it about 2 .months now and ive tolerated it but now its become annoying.

Do you know of any hubs that are just plug and play that would replace it ?

I will try and reset it all tommorow again its just annoying that you can't manually split the channels anymore I know if I contact sky I get the restart your router , factory reset it oh that didnt work we will send an engineer and its not helpful when my calls are through WiFi and they tell me to turn the router off.

Thank you for your help anyway at this point ee is even starting to look a better option.

Re: Wifi drop

@Daveyboii570 If it's not to much off an issue do the factory reset on it, the 5Ghz 80Mhz channels are as follows, 42,58,106,122,138,155,171...

And the 2.4Ghz is 1,6,11 for the three channels.... The Max is a tri band but the extra is only supposed to appear when sky Pods are in use, never used the sky Max hub, far to restricted for me in it's operation and do NOT need anything that it could ever give!

EE it's up to you i only managed to stick 11 months out off the 24 month contract, quit paid the exit fee and returned to sky, they messed it up big time. My Asus router as it is TRI band have the 3 names seperated so once the pictures get cleared you will see it, but using 2 XT8's, 2 RP-AX58's and powerline in the network mix. Been doing this 45+ years as a network Engineer so do know what i am doing.

Edit:- have just messaged below as a possible and to see how it is all going, take a read when you get a minute. Jim

Re: Wifi drop

@Daveyboii570 To get us back on your original posting, last entry added to it.

I use the Asus xt8's, without having wifi calling i would have 3 bricks for phones as the 4G and Mobile is non existant at my home area, and apart from a few quirks with the optional please select 1,2,3,4 etc on a few obscure system's like the doctor's surgery it works with zero problems, and the good lady does all her calling whatsapp as her family is all oversea's or in London with no problems....

The BT10 is right up there as good as it get's and Asus is very expensive but boy do they just work.... Only question with the newer Asus and will go look at them is they DO NOT have as many Ethernet ports as what is on the Max, so how many ports do you have wired up, and then there is the question, wifi were do you need it all, will one BT do it all or is two required and meshed.....

I need 4 nodes, but 50's home solid brick walls, and FF500 connection but 500/70 no matter were you connect at all in the home, just to keep all off my back, been that way for years speed wise.

Edit:- Take a look at the Asus BT8 series, way powerfull enough and has at least 4 ports on it?
