Wifi drop
Ive been having an issue with my connection for a while. So where alot of devices are hard wired those that are on WiFi will suddenly stop working. After a few seconds they come back to life but suddenly drop out again.
I have hard reset the sky WiFi 6 hub back to factory and all seemed well but now after only a week we have the same issue again.
Affects everything on WiFi mobile phones , blink cameras , ring doorbell tablets etc.
When I test connection it says offline but then it will suddenly work and I will get 837mb download and 107mb upload.
Testing through sky app says all is good so im really confused. I cant phone sky as we only use mobiles and the signal keeps dropping so will disconnect the call.
Ive tried relocating the router. Hard reset router. Renamed WiFi, lowered security, turned off shield.
Any suggestions as this is really starting to annoy me now 😒
Many thanks
Dave

Re: Wifi drop
Just a note none of the devices on WiFi loose connection to the hub as the WiFi signal symbol is constantly on.
Turning WiFi on and off on the devices does not correct the issue either.

Re: Wifi drop
@Daveyboii570 When you say the wireless wifi is non functional and everything is connected but got no Internet connection through the sky Hub, your ethernet devices are all working is that correct still connected, and have Internet access.....
With the wireless device are you getting wireless bars but an exclamation mark in it showing connected no Internet?
Do you have any wifi devices only operating in the 2.4Ghz band, that stay connected and working, Although you say you have a ring doorbell / camera there are a couple do work in the 5Ghz band but very few off them!
Wondering if the hub is auto channel moving to avoid a clash somewhere, you don't have any booster's or mesh connected to the system?

Re: Wifi drop
Yes so ethernet devices all run as normal , pc , playstations , sky stream etc all run fine no problems. Even when Internet not working on WiFi the wired ones still work.
I have the hub 6 so I believe you cant split bands any longer on them. I did change the ring for the latest one as i thought it was mainly just the ring playing up and was due to be replaced anyway and connected up perfectly and blink cameras all work as they should until the WiFi dies out.
The WiFi symbol on mobiles all show full bars and the 2 little arrows on the bottom right hand side of it are there as though they are sending and recieving as they should. Occasionally they will go off for a second or so but come back on I cant say ive seen an exclamation mark at all.
I did master reset the hub and it reverted all the settings as I had changed the WiFi name and password.
Ive rebooted the ont (not sure if thats the right term but the box where the fibre comes into the house).

Re: Wifi drop
Sorry didnt see the last bit of your reply
Theres no mesh or extenders the only extender is for the ring door bell as its one of them chimes.
But was happening before that was installed. Nothing has changed in the setup.
Speeds are fine when it is connected and shows no fault in the app.

Re: Wifi drop
Ive just run a speed test and watched it go from 650mb down to 50mb and it didnt even show an upload speed as the Internet cut out.
Then with a second I retested and it was fine again.

Re: Wifi drop
@Daveyboii570 From what you are saying Ethernet working fine, ONT will NOT be a problem if that goes NOTHING will work... You cannot split the bands as you have the sky Max wifi 6 version, so you are stuck that way, but if you had a device that ONLY operates on the 2.4Ghz band and it worked always that would have possibly helped, like my Ring doorbell and the Ring Camera ONLY work 2.4Ghz band there is no choice in that, all my 2,4Ghz devices i know what they are....
Any how that does not matter too much, not lossing the wifi by the look off it as phone is showing you bars present and data flowing, is your mobile Android operation and this is important BOOSTER's / Mesh used or not, even sky Q / Mini operation as they can transmit a signal. Wait on your phone responce!

@Daveyboii570 The pictures below when you can see them are from the Netspot inspector app on my samsung A54, free app and shows you the Hub and Transmitting devices signals and strength's. Take a look when they get cleared for you to view.

Re: Wifi drop
They havnt cleared yet but I just downloaded the app.
So when i ran it 2 appeared in green
5ghz -47db channel 157
2.4ghz -52db channel 6
But while I was looking a 3rd suddenly appeared in green out of nowhere
Another 5ghz -49db channel 40
The channel 40 and channel 6 went from bright green to a dull green and -56db and -57db
Now I only have 2 again 5ghz channel 157 -43db

Re: Wifi drop
@Daveyboii570 No your doing well, try the hub off you need to get the 5Ghz to climb down from ch 157, off on is said to do that.
