WiFi signal weak

Received a new router as a result of not getting the guaranteed speed for more than 3 days. The signal is now very weak to non existent in the upstairs bedroom's. I have previously complained only to be told it must be the positioning of the router even though it's the same set up as before. This seems to be a common problem with your customers which makes me think it's a marketing strategy to make people upgrade so they can receive wifi boosters. Very frustrating.
