Re: WiFi outage Bristol

I'm in BS30 and have the same problem. Been down since about 20:30.

Update from sky

I finally managed to get through and Sky are doing an update in the Bristol BS30 and BS15 areas, they didn't let us know prior to this and we should all receive automatic compensation for the inconvenience, I have been told not to do the diagnosis whilst this takes place and they will email when the update is finished.

Re: WiFi outage Bristol

Im in BS15, no internet since around 8pm.  Just checked the status again just now and it's still saying there's no issue!

Re: WiFi outage Bristol

They're doing an update which they didn't bother telling anyone about, I've just posted about it separately 😇

Re: Update from sky

Well done for getting this info. Thank you.  Would've been nice for them to tell us instead of spending Sunday night trying to do diagnostics and get hold of Sky!!

@Ry42

There is no prior notification of an outage or work being done and there is no automatic compensation for an outage of a few hours.

This link explains the Ofcom agreed auto compensation scheme which Sky operates for when there is a TOTAL loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk for UK customers.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full WORKING DAYS from when Sky are notified of the fault you would become eligible for it.

Re: Update from sky

Actually there is if you ask for it, especially when your TV didn't work during the first half of England and had to watch it on your phone.

Plus the fact I litterally spoke to actual sky and that is what they told me so thank you for your comment but it's completely wrong.

@Ry42

Its not wrong. Any credit added would only be a good will gesture from Sky not auto compensation as you described it.

Re: No Wi-Fi - Sky Connection Checker says there’s no issue… In East Bristol?

Thanks for your reply and advice. It was obviously something external as it came back on over night, to my great relief 😅
