@KoiMan wrote:I am using Wifi from the hub. With both Sky tests and a Broadband speed checker. Using my laptop and mobile. On my mobile I am using Meteor which is what my installer uses.
The point is, I have screen caps if the original hubs performance of over 600mb/s.
Yeah my mistake only one card came and ut fidn't occur to me to take a photo. Oops.
What speed does the MySky app on your phone show though, as the speed to the hub (the hub shows the actual incoming speed)?
Wifi speed to any device is extremely unlikely to hit the maximum speed, there's far too many variables.
The wifi log-in details will also be printed on the bottom or back of the hub, I always take a photo even if I'll never use them as I'll change them first thing. Once you have the details you're using you can either show the QR code for friends or family or share them from a smart phone. I like to make things as simple as possible.

Should have said, I'm unable to connect iMac or iphone using Ethernet cable. Wish I could.
You can get USB3 to ethernet converters for around a tenner from Amazon or perhaps a local shop if you ever need to connect the Macbook directly.

I did not know that. Thanks. I'll look in to it.
Ensure you purchase the correct speed rated ethernet adapter e.g. this one is only £3.23 on ebay however, it is only rated to 100Mbps so if you used it your speed test would still be slow as it can go beyond 100Mbps. I use this one which is rated up to 1000Mbps, but was useless when I had a 2.5Gbps broadband connection

Yeah. I had identified 1000 mb/s rated ones but only by accident. £12 on Amazon.

Mine was dropping off during the night. Drained a fully charged iPhone to 30% while not being used. Restarted hub again this morning. Generally behaving apart from dropping out during a print run

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
Well bit of an update from me and me earlier rant
I was on the phone to customer service who said the net dropping outa bit for first 14 is normal. We literally had no internet for first few days, wife ran her data done unknowingly on her phone because of this. In the end they have sent out a new router as I've stated it seems quite a common issue, especially here on the community forum.
Since it's arrived I have had better connectivity. But the speeds are nowhere near 900, closer to 450/500 and I'm regularly doing speed tests.
i still feel like it is dipping in and out but I've not completely noticed

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
These are all interesting comments. However, lack of opportunities to speak to real people and informed people at SKY is not acceptable.
My installer said that (prior to knowing the hub wouldn't work properly) the hub would progressively get faster as the days go by. Well it hasn't.
There is info in the SKY documentation that they monitor our speeds for the first 14 days. That'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

I stand to be corrected but that sounds like utter rubbish with a FTTP connection.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
Well I spoke too soon last night, dropped pretty much after I posted and this morning again so having to had to reboot.....again
koi, the funny thing is even when you know it's not working the speeds show it's ok so I wouldn't believe it.
Soon as I mentioned about compensation for it not working correctly they said they would send out a hub

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
You make a good point. My 4th Utility Icotera was blistering from day 1. I couldn't fault it, only the pricing which SKY have smashed it.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
Same here. The comment I got was no compensation as the broadband speeds to my hub were as expected ( though that has changed with the new hub, downwards). I tried to point out, what's the point if their kit is then preventing me from using those speeds, it's not of my doing.
Head banging against brick wall springs to mind.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
@KoiMan @ModernFugu Can you both look at the MySky app on your phones and tap 'Broadband', then tap on 'Service Checker', finally (once the check is complete) tap on 'Sky Broadband' and scroll down to 'Here's your speed history (Last 15 days)'. If you could both post a screenshot, that would be helpful.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute
No one is disputing the speed to our house threshold. Sky BB checker can't see anything wrong. The problem is the WiFi hub constantly stopping. White light stays on. I'll post my recent history screenshot as requested, which reveals nothing unt
