WiFi coverage
Good evening,
we've recently moved over to you from BT for our broadband, it went live yesterday. But we are struggling getting things to connect? We live in a 3 story house (router) is on ground floor, and kids on the top floor can't connect or if they do the signal strength shows as 30-40% and their devices keep dropping out.
can I get a WiFi booster? As it's struggling to get around the house.
any advice greatly appreciated

Re: WiFi coverage
@Weston23 you are not talking to Sky by posting in the forum.
Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes or houses with more than 2 storeys. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.
Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Re: WiFi coverage
I went down the route of purchasing and using my own WiFi mesh system for my 900/115 broadband at the ONT on the ground floor in the hallway.
There is a bit of a learning curve as well as an additional bit of equipment/plugs etc, but I am very happy with the results. Turned off WiFi on the hub, connected Asus XT9 in AP mode and with a hub on each floor above, I currently get over 450 Mbps at the mesh hub on the third floor (ethernet to pc) and 300 Mbps on WiFi connected devices- more than enough for those watching tv on the top floor or playing games.
XT9s are not cheap, but I previously used a Tenda Mesh system, and while not nearly as fast, was cheap. It was also reliable and ensured everyone in the house had WiFi

Re: WiFi coverage
Good post @IntVic as it happens I use similar set up from TP-Link Deco4 3 unit setup in my own home. In practice very few apps can use more than 100Mb/s so unless you require the highest possible speeds for downloading in distant rooms a WiFi5 system suits most users.
