This WiFi network uses an older security standard that's being phased out.
I keep getting this message when I work from home.
Are Sky going to update their standards or do I need to do something? Like move to another WiFi network provider

The Sky Hub, Sky Q Hub and Sky Broadband Hub cannot be updated to support WPA3 because the Protected Management Frames feature is implemented in hardware.
The new Max Hub supports this standard.

The current standard routers from almost all UK ISPs are WPA2 and cannot be updated to WPA3: as noted above this is partly a hardware standard and so not found in most 802.11ac kit. Any router specified as 'WiFi 6' (802.11ax) has to suppport WPA3 and some ISPs (including Sky) will offer these as a premium subscription item.
It's only Apple which has arbitrarily decide to display that message on its hardware.

Thanks @Highlinder @TimmyBGood
FYI I'm on a DELL laptop. I've raised incident with works IT team but they say WPA2 Personal is sufficient so will see how I go.

Everyone but Apple still thinks WPA2-PSK (AES) is adequate unless the user is being targeted by a state security agency or similar level adversary.
