Re: WiFi 5G Connectivity dropping
For clarity, what you are referring to are the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz frequency bands, not '5G' which is fifth generation cellular data (mobile phone) technology.

Re: WiFi 5G Connectivity dropping
Good morning,
Sorry for the typo. Indeed, I am referring to the frequency/internet speed, GHz.
Just for your reference, a couple of days ago I performed a reset on the hub, reconfigured it, and allowed for auto-negotiation between 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency. The first day everything was fine; today all devices have switched to 2.4 and 5 GHz seems to be down. Due to this, the TV has delays and sometimes freezes during buffering.

Re: WiFi 5G Connectivity dropping
I am also having a similar issue. Newly installed Sky Broadband and can confirm over wired connection I'm getting the full ~900Mbps connection, over Wifi I sometimes cap out just under 200Mbps, which to me seems like the router is defaulting to the 2.4Ghz frequency.
When I logged on the app in I can see on the WiFi 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz is enabled, however when logging into the router I have no connection or MAC present on the 5Ghz.
I've tried a simple reset I found online, (Restart) and attempted the Press and hold the WPS button until the light blinks green but still no 5 Ghz connection.
Any thoughts or advice?
Wi-Fi LAN port (5 GHz)

Re: WiFi 5G Connectivity dropping
well I somehow managed to get both 2.4 and 5 active and working now.
How I did it (all my steps).
Not that it matters, I replaced the cable from the termination box to the router with a known working CAT6 I had.
I powered down both termination box and router.
I then powered on the termination bpx after 2 mins.
Left it for about 5 minutes before I powered on the router.
After 10 mins I logged into the app, went to Broadband > Product Settings > My Max Hub > Advanced Settings > Disable WiFi > ignored/warnings > then I disables the 2.4 waitined 1 min then re-enabled 2.4 (During this time I lost connection for a couple mins).
and now I have both showing active and a speed test confirms I'm getting better speeds on my wifi devices that are clearly connecting to the 5Ghz band.
Good Luck, it was painful but persistence is the name of the game.
