Wi‑Fi Keeps Dropping on Apple Devices — DNSFailureRecovery Issue

Hi,

I’m having ongoing Wi‑Fi issues specifically with my Apple devices (MacBook Pro M4, Ipad 7  and iPhone 11 and 13), connected to my Sky broadband . The signal is strong, but I regularly lose connection — especially with DNS resolution failures — and the only way to fix it is by restarting the router. This doesn’t happen with my husband’s non-Apple laptop, so it seems device-specific.

I ran full Apple Wireless Diagnostics and found repeated DNSFailureRecovery traces, which appear to trigger a forced Wi‑Fi reassociation.

I’ve already:

  • Reset network settings on both devices

  • Restarted the router

  • Changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1

But the issue keeps coming back.

This seems to be a known Sky/Apple compatibility problem. Is there:

  • A firmware fix in progress?

  • A DHCP or IPv6 setting that can be adjusted?

  • Or should I use my own router behind the Sky box?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated — it’s becoming really disruptive.

Thanks in advance!

@irinarose What makes you say it's a known sky-apple problem if that was the case there would be thousands of Forum threads and links that you would be finding, and apple user's up in arms, just try finding that you won't.
