We had to terminate our last contract with sky as our land line was unsatisfactory – the old copper cable was causing our phone to have a weak signal for outgoing conversations and several of your engineers advised us to wait till sky had installed a new fibre optic cable into our home (similar to our virgin cable) However, I noticed that your land line phone connection now uses the hub rather than the old copper cable socket which was re-activated by openreach and would need to be activated again if I return to Sky for my broadband. My question is would this hub connection to my phone produce a better connection than before? Also, if this would work better my current copper cable entry point would need to be moved from my lounge to my office where my hub and answerphone are located. Would sky be able to arrange for this new entry point which is about 8 meters away, and would this cost me anything as part of my return to sky? I still have my dish and cable into my lounge which would simply be reconnected for my TV

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf there was a problem with your phone line before its likely that problem still exisits if nothing has been fixed. Problems on the line can affect broadband as well as phone so its likely the problem may still cause your broadband/phone to drop even if you are using VOIP.
As far as I am aware you cannot arrange for a new entry point when ordering, you would need to have the service fully activated first and then book a master socket relocation which costs £65.
