Very weird ping spikes
I recently moved home and decided to take advantage of the fiber in the area by ordering full fiber giga fast and the max hub for the WiFi 6 features. I'm very satisfied with my speeds but have noticed that every 30 mins to 1hr my latency will spike to over 500ms while I'm gaming. Everything else is working fine and I don't get any issues when watching streams or streaming HD content or music, just gaming. I've tried multiple channels, splitting the bands, different adapters, all to no avail. I can't run a a cable to my pc as that would require drilling holes in the wall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Very weird ping spikes
@vG_Chance most likely cause is packet loss which wifi is prone to. If ethernet is impossible a decent second best is powerline networking adapters. You need a kit of two adapters which communicate usingbthe mainsxwiring in your home. One plugs into a wall power socket nesr the hub and links by ethernet the second plugs into anothercwall socket near the eevice you use for gaming again linked by Ethernet . Plan to get roughly 30% of the rated speed you dont need high speed for gaming as in practicecthat only use 10Mb/s.
Hiwever if there are multiple people (say 4 or 5) in your home using the link while you are gaming the issue could be that the hub is having issues keeping up as it lacks the ability to prioritise gaming traffic. If you suspect thst could be the case buying a router designed for gaming with QOS would be a good investment Asus routers play nicely with Sky's full fibre services.
