Re: Very Slow Broadband speed
You wrote " My wifi speed is abysmal and the speed testers show it is abysmal "
Again, your contract with Sky is for speed delivered to the Hub by cabling from the internet, not WiFi from the Hub to your own devices. If speed at the Hub or over ethernet cable from the Hub is below the Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed then you should seek a solution to that.

Re your reply copied below:
"Important to understand that the Sky checker reports speed at the Hub: if your tests were made using a wireless device then it's local WiFi you're testing, not broadband speed.
Also, random 'at' sign user names are other subscribers, not Sky personnel."
Your response is a real clever clogs and deflective and does not help but in fact rubs salt in the wound.
Why are you so defensive of Sky, do you need to maintain your superuser status?
My wifi speed is abysmal and the speed testers show it is abysmal as I mentioned 0 to 7 mbs vs a promised high speed fibre promised by sky and paid for - check out Sky's reputation online https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/skybroadband.com
If their tester tests just at the hub then this is also useless information and likely designed to deflect users from the issue at hand which is the abysmal speeds.
@HannahLwat You may want to read your replies again, in the reply from you that I have quoted you mentioned your wifi speed(I have highlighted In bold that bit for clarity). No one here has made anything up the responses have been based on what you have said in your posts.
For clarity, any speed test run online will only test the throughput to the device the test is run on and if that teat is run via WiFi it can be significantly lower than the Sky test(due to that testing your line speed).
If you take the time to post the Information that has been asked for a couple of times we may be able to offer better advice, if you don't want to post that then no further help can be offered here.

Re: Very Slow Broadband speed
Why oh why is Sky telling me that my download & upload speeds are up to par when clearly they are not. Since Last week they are taking twice as long..to add insult to injury I've taken various speed tests via other reputable sites and they all appear to conflict with Sky's speed test own results. This is frustrating and i'm seriously considering moving to BT if this doesn't improve within the next several days.
FIX THIS!!!!!!!

Re: Very Slow Broadband speed
@JCarter23 this is a very common issue which is normally explained by the fact a speed test on a device reports the slowest part of the connection from that device to the server running the test which is often the WiFi link in your home which is beyond Sky's control. The speed their test reports is the connection speed to the hub and is normally accurate.
Even if you use a fast network connection like a Gigabit ethernet cable the speedtest at the device is always going to be roughly 8% slower as there are network overheads. However WiFi speeds are affected by a number of faxtors like the layout and type of construction of your home, the level of interference, the number of devices using the connection at that time and also the WiFi standard of the hub. This is only a problem if apps are not getting the speeds required to work.

Re: Very Slow Broadband speed
Same here even after engineer came out checked the line and no issues found from the BT side of things so I am assuming it is just that Sky broadband is crap, as soon as contract is up it's virgin media for me
