Hi there
Can any experts guide me, the problem I have is a VPN for my employer dropping frequently through our home internet. On works mobile data it worked seemlessly but slow as only 3mb upload.
On home system it drops on Ethernet and more frequent on WiFi, but strangely on WiFi it began today connected at 866/866 WiFi speed then dropped to 53/86, my employer has already replaced laptop but annoyingly my wife works at home 3 days a week with no issues at all.
The set up Sky Fibre 500, Sky hub 4.2, Ethernet to a Netgear unmanaged switch, and Sky Q with main box and 1 mini Ethernet and 3 minis on WiFi and 1 booster
sky are now sending another new router but I'm unsure it will fix the issue - we do have around 40 devices connected
thanks in advance James

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jamesesx your vpn requires a regular signal to stay connected so loss of that packet can cause it to drop. Nothing obvious linked to your broadband connection and as you are not reporting issues with other devices which would indicate general issues with packet loss it is puzzling.
However you report 4 Q minis and a booster which with the Sky hub and the main Q box is a total of 7 nodes on the Q mesh which is close to the limit of 8 devices Sky set. The Q mesh system was quite a step forward in 2016 when it launched now it is getting old and can cause networking issues. I would try powering down the booster and one or more of the Q minis while using the VPN to see if that helps.
