Re: VPN Issues
I still have this issue - I did call Sky & was informed the issue had already been raised & was being investigated. I then received a txt a few days later to say it had been resolved - but my VPN still won't connect via my home Sky WiFi - having to hotspot from my phone?

Re: VPN Issues
@Fiona1977 if you have a white Sky hub try the steps in this post UPnP set up I
I merote last week IF the issue is being caused by the change Sky has made to the assignment of IP addresses it will sort it. If it doesnt then the problem is not related to that cause.
If you have a black hub the issue is different.

Re: VPN Issues
TP-Link WiFi Extender is what I have to now use when the other week my work vpn connection to the main router stopped connecting.

Re: VPN Issues
We're having the exact same issue in our home. Spoken with IT who wouldn't fully support when my work IT were guiding through the next steps.
@Tom-W19 can I be added to the private chat to support?

Re: VPN Issues
I have a black hub - my company IT department stated I need to ask you:-
Confirm if you are using IPv6 on the router, if so then go to 2.
Confirm if Sky have you configured for MAP-T (this is 8 to 1 IPv4 address sharing and will need to be configured for 1 to 1.
Give them the VPN address for diagnosis 32.64.160.6
Or is there something I need to do from my end to resolve this?

Re: VPN Issues
@Fiona1977 MAP-T is not used on the black Sky hubs they will always have a normal IP4 address. The MAP-T issue is only relevant to customers with the white Sky Max hub and third party routers that advertise support for MAP-T. You may wish to point your IT staff to these posts by Sky's in-house expert.
Your issue is therefore different and hopefully your IT experts can sort it for you.

Re: VPN Issues
So we have the white Sky hub box. I've followed the instructions and some given by my work and managed to get the MAP T sharing ratio to 1:1 but my VPN is still not having it.
It's just timing out

The connection timed out waiting for the VPN server to respond. This can occur if your computer is behind a firewall that does not permit UDP or IPSec traffic. Contact your local network administrator for assistance. (229)

Exactly the same here, same message trying to use AT&T. Waiting to hear from Sky after relaying all this information over the phone, so far nothing....

Exactly the same VPN I'm using - AT&T. All was fine & now it isn't?

Re: VPN Issues
I will be trying a fix tomorrow hopefully. Maybe someone can try before then, I'm planning on reducing the WiFi interface MTU to 1400 to allow for map-t encapsulation. As I believe traffic is being fragmented and IPsec vpns do not like fragmentation at all!

I would expect that to resolve the issue. Alternatively you could try leaving the main interface MTU as 1500 but instead reduce the VPN tunnel interface MTU by 20 bytes (to allow for the additional overhead when MAP-T translates IPv4->IPv6), as well as check any configuration options to ensure payloads are fragmented before encryption not afterwards, that should help.
Edit: Another option that would help is if there's configuration to force the VPN to calculate UDP checksums, ensure that's enabled.
