VPN Issues

Until last weekend I've been using a VPN to connect to my work PC, from home via a Mac using Microsoft Remote Desktop and my SKY wifi. Last weekend something changed, and now I can't connect through SKY but I have no issues connecting via a mobile/4g connection - nor do I have any issues using the remote desktop from any other broadband connection (hotels, airBnB, friends houses etc etc). What's changed and how do I reset it please?

Hi @username12345543

This could be due to Sky's rollout of MAP-T IP address sharing. Sky can change you back on their end. I have escalated your post to chat, look out for a message on the forum

Re: VPN Issues

No mine is the black one. It is very odd the way I have to connect to work VPN, I brought an extender when everyone had an issue last year with no connection to Apple HomePod, this extender is the only way I can connect to my work VPN? It is a workaround but Something changed last Tuesday and now as a result WiFi is very slow, with random downtimes and no VPN when connected to main hub.

I have rebooted the hub, but nothing changes. I called Sky and guy on phone reported no issue with the incoming signal, so couldn't offer any help or answers? Obviously something has gone wrong with a firmware change, as too many people are reporting same issue, but the lack of answers is frustrating.

Re: VPN Issues

Hi Tom,

I have called sky multiple times in the last week to try and get this resolved for a number of remote workers all using SKY.  1 has had a fix applied, however the rest are getting varied responses from the SKY operatives.  Most say that there is nothing they can do.  One has sent out an engineer.  All users impacted lost connection to their work VPN on Sept 11th at approx 8pm.  Please distribute a knowledge article to the teams, so that there is a common message when users call up

@garytryh the black hubs do not support MAP-T so most of the discussion in this thread does not apply to you. You mention a third party extender what exactly is this unit as configuring third party extenders to work with Sky hubs can cause issues.
