Re: Using 3rd party modem router with full fibre
The is a possibility that it will
1. Connect the network cable from the FTTP wall box to port 4 (labelled LAN/WAN)
2. Login to the router and click advanced at the top.
3. Click Operating Mode and change to "Wireless Router Mode" press "Save"
4. Once ready, while on the "Advanced" setting again, go to "Network" -> "Internet"
5. You will see an empty table, click "Add" in the top right above said table
6. Change Internet Connection Type to "Dynamic IP"
7. Ensure IPv4 remains ticked.
8. Tick IPv6 (wont be selected at the moment)
9. Do not clone mac
10. Press Save
11. Wait, it can take a minute or two but should eventually show connected.

Thanks, if the sky modem allows a guest network I may not need the tp link kit provided wifi is good around the house.

Sky routers do not offer that option.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Using 3rd party modem router with full fibre
Hi, I spoke to sky and they said the fttp should work by just plugging the ethernet into the modem.
As you have noted it's not as simple a that. I was wondering what the worst case would be if I upgraded and could not get the router to work. Would my tplink M5 mesh work connected to the sky supplied router?
On the negative side I assume without the VoIP option that the sky hub has I'd loose my landline.
Really like the idea of full fibre but I think the sky router is limited due to wifi coverage and lack of guest options.
