Upload speed suddenly very slow

I've had Sky Broadband for several years without issue. Normal download speeds are 35-40 Mbps and upload speeds are 6-10 Mbps.

Suddenly for the last 24 hours, although my download speeds are still fine, in the 30-40 Mpbs range, my upload speeds are no more than 0.3-0.6 Mbps.

I've done all the Sky diagnostics and it says there's no issue with my connection.

Does anybody have any idea what might be causing the sudden decrease in upload speed and how I might fix it??

Thank you very much if anyone has any ideas.

You would expect around 10Mbps upload however upload speeds are not guaranteed.

Could you enter you full address below and post the table and notes after removing your address from the image

Re: Upload speed suddenly very slow

Hello, please would somebody help.

I don't understand on the shenanigans that goes on.  I have a Sky Broadband Hub, I'm having trouble with upload speeds.  The speed test I just did said 10mbps, but it feels much slower.  Struggling to do anything, even upload the screen shots of my router stats etc.   Please help.  ThankyouScreenshot 2025-12-01 at 19.27.59.pngScreenshot 2025-12-01 at 19.25.59.png

Re: Upload speed suddenly very slow

After months of similar problems, Sky engineers coming out, Openreach engineers coming out, a new router, a new master socket, my problem turned out to be  . . .  the cable from the router to the master socket. Once changed, the problem has not recurred in 4 months.

So, before trying anything else, try changing that cable first.

@AJA66 Not going to be that as @Genie99 is on a FF Full Fibre connection as displayed in his stat's!

Re: Upload speed suddenly very slow

Yes that's right I'm on Full fibre.

I'm supposed to get 20mbps for upload. But I don't know where I'm looking on stats to check.

what should I look at?  Do I get an average on these stats or lowest/highest somewhere.

speed tester showed 10mbps yesterday when I tested.

thabkyou!

Re: Upload speed suddenly very slow

@Genie99 There is NO such thing as supposed to get for upload, 10Mb/s was not bad on your 20Mb/s sync speed, and you will never get the same speed test twice in a row...

Not sure if mac allows it but speedtest.net if they have a mac version has a table to look back testing. Also an account with thinkbroadband will store your history off testing on there web server's.
