Unplug Optical Terminal to switch socket

I have recently had sky full fibre installed, and but I only have 1 power socket where it comes into the house, so I used a 2 socket spitter to plug the optical terminal and the router in for power. The installer plugged the OTN in when it was installed.

Want to change to a 3 socket splitter as I can't use the landline yet (also needs a power socket for base station).

Keep hearing scary stuff about turning power off the OTN, that it can mess up connection when turned back on again and loose internet.

I'm not going to be touching any of the connecting cables between the router and  OTN. Just the power plugs. The splitters are surge protected.

Is it safe to turn off power to do the switch?

@Maximus272 Yes, Power them all off, change the plug adapter, switch the ONT on first 2 mins it will be up to Green lights, once up switch the hub on, it takes 5 minutes to reboot to working light / lights depending on your hub!

That's extremely unlikely, but cannot be absolutely ruled out.
