Hi!
I have very recently moved and brought Sky with me - I have TV, Broadband, mobile and home phone.
The issue that Ihave is I am unable to get wifi signal in my home office which is in the garden.
I do have a VPN cable for connecting my laptop which works perfectly, but having a nightmare as no phone signal for answering calls and using the internet on my personal mobile.
I have tried tethering my mobile to my laptop but due to security restrictions, I am unable to do this.
The area I now live is dire for phone signals on any network - I did today take delivery of a WiFi range extender/booster which proved to be useless and dropped out as soon as I stepped into the garden.
My office is only a matter of 20 feet from the house and the router is also located on the ground floor with good signal in the house.
How can I get wifi in my office? Is it possible to have 2x routers on the same account (so I can have 1x in the house and 1x in the office using the VPN cable)?
Any advise would be very welcomed as it's effecting my work performance badly.

How is electricity delivered to the home office via the house or via a different?
Wifi ethernet powerline adapters may be a solution if the electricity is piped in from the house

No: you never want two routers on a single ISP connection. If, as I suspect, your 'VPN cable' is an ethernet run then the solution is to have an ethernet switch on the home office end with an ethernet patch lead into the laptop and another to a separate wireless access point.

Many thanks for your reply.
Electricity is delivered from the house - I have no idea about this sort of thing, I just turn my laptop on and start working lol.
So, you think a wifi ethernet powerline adapter is the way forward?

It is the most convenient solution
Router etherneted to powerline adapter in wall socket routes packets onto the electric wiring and wifi ethernet powerline in electric socket in home office allows devices to be etherneted or wifi'd to that powerline and both powerlines act as access points

Hi
I was reading the forum and came across your answers to nuttynumpty.
I have a similar problem with a garden room. We bought the powerline adapters and they work ok but seem to hang up a fair bit.
The broadband package I'm on is Sky Broadband Ultrafast 1, is this fast enough to used through the powerlines or should i go to a better pakage?
thanks
