Trying to renew broadband on same package, says not available

I'm trying to renew my broadband gigabit package, which I've been happy with for the last two years. However, it says no broadband packages are available at my address. Even stranger, if I search via uswitch and follow the process from there, I can select the same package for my address and progress to the point where it wants me to login, at which point it says not available. Do Sky not want my money?

Sounds like you'll need to call Sky which is usually the best way to get a reasonable discount anyway which will require a new 24 month minimum term contract.

Significant discounts are harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back. Also remember you’re not a new customer so don’t expect anything close to a new customer deal.

If you decide it’s no longer value for money and you’re thinking of changing providers remember that in 18/24 months time you'll be in the same position with that company at which point you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from the new customer discounts available at that particular time.

The Contact Us button doesn't work, and perhaps I'm being thick but I can't find a number to call anywhere. Any idea what it is?

The current methods for contacting Sky are below and depending on your reason for making contact some methods will be more appropriate than others……

🟩 📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or a Sky Talk landline. The forum doesn’t allow the display of other numbers. Other official numbers to Sky from the UK are 03 numbers which are normally inclusive from non Sky phones.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.

🟩 Sky Assistant 💬 should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

🟩 Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

I did follow the automated chat procedure and it sent me here. I don't have a landline or a Sky mobile to call. Surely there's a phone number listed somewhere? Or an email address where I can contact an actual human?

Sky don't use email for general communication.

 

You do have a landline as part of your broadband package. You've just chosen to not plug a handset into it. 

In future it might be worth spending some money on a cheap landline handset for just this kind of issue whereby you can call Sky free of charge from it. If you do that dialling 17070 will provide your landline phone number.

Yes, I mean I don't have a landline handset and I shouldn't need to buy one to get support for renewing broadband! May as well switch, unless anyone from Sky wants to rear their head?

They won't contact you based on your post. Your Community log in name isn't linked to any Sky accounts you may have, so no one knows who you are anyway.
