Re: Test say sky broadband okay in area but my Wi-Fi service not working
@Pembroke64 you need to find out whether your iissue is the speed Sky are delivering to the hub or yhe speed of the WiFi in your home. Thevformer is guaranteed and can be checked by clicking on the broadband link in the Service checker. If speeds are lower than the guarantee the app should offer to book an engineer if it doesn't call Sky.
WiFi spedds in your home are not covered bybthe same guarantee for the simple reason they are affected by the lsyout and type of construction of your home which isnt something Sky can control. You msybe able to improvecthings by making surecthe hub is in the best place which is out in the open on a surfscecso its signals are not blocked by furniture etc. Streaming video requires decent WiFi which you can test if you havectge Netflix app as therecis a usefulneteork test in its Get Help menu. To watch in UHD you need a good 30Mb/s result. Slower than that and you will get buffering. Sky are not good at pointing this out when selling the system but do sell an add-on called WiFi Max which can provide up to 3 extenders if required see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or you can buy your own WiFi kit. Alternstively buy an Ethernet cable for a few quid and get a far better connection if that is possible.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
