Terrible wifi signal and can't get hold of customer services

I have a new Sky Max hub, which I bought because my upstairs Wi-Fi drops in and out, especially on Zoom calls. It has been installed for two days, and the Wi-Fi is worse than ever. I have followed all the instructions, rebooted, etc. The hub is outside a cupboard but still in my laundry downstairs, as that is where the Ethernet connection comes into the house.

Please help, this is causing chaos on my work calls.

@Faye43 Here is the advise, and YOU do need to speak with sky CS to get this all done, and to let you know just now there is a stock issue with sky getting the Sky Max pods, so heads up on that.

1. You followed sky's recommendation to upgrade to sky Max, it has not worked out and your signal where you need it is worse than ever....

2. You need for sky NOW to test as that is what the call is all about, see how bad this is and get a Sky Pod moving to you asap...

3. Once you get that all attached to your account, and now having to use your phone app for everthing install the pod get it working and hopefully your signal will be boosted upstairs.

The older black SR203 they have stopped supplying the booster's of the old style to extend the signal, they did work quite well with the speed hit that was involved in doing so. Fact that you did have poor with the older then you do still need to boost......

HTH with what you need to do!

It was the original black sky hub that I had before I upgraded to WiFi Max. I have been on Sky over a year.

@Faye43 Confused, where you told to do so by sky to improve your signal, sitting in the same place as before then THAT is not going to happen, if anything and the post's on the Forum are to go by, then it is going to be worse than before!

I was told it should boost my WiFi signal. Sadly looks like that didn't work!

Re: Terrible wifi signal and can't get hold of customer services

@Faye43 As a little footnote for you, the hub may also just be in the worst place for operation, and finding the best place is not also easy, but the Ethernet cable that connects it to the ONT, can be extended and you can place it where it works best. Getting a longer cable and trying it out in a central location is the easiest way of trying to find the sweet spot, it is a pain to do so as NO too homes are the same!
