Telephone line query

I have plugged my new hub in and connected it to telephone line. 

do I have to activate the telephone line and can I do that via Sky?

@Esther25  Have you recently moved from another property?  If so did you complete a Home Move?  You can't take you hub to another address and plug it in unless Sky have advised they have activated your service.

 

a fixed line boradband service can't follow you around the network

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
