Sky Max Hub vs TP Link AX3000

Hi All,

We currently have a Sky Max Hub and have just had FTTP installed. Download seems stable and improved, same with upload.

However, as I game a lot my main priorties the ping, after running bufferbloat tests my upload experienced 500ms+ under load...

Don't want to spend loads so switched to the AX3000 to try out their QoS. The modem worked under a straight switch with the Sky hub but it looks like the bufferbloat is worse with QoS enabled...

Was thinking of sending the AX3000 back but will keep if people think it's generally better than the Max Hub as it was only £65.

Main question here is the AX3000 vs the Max Hub - do you think it's better and worth the cost ignoring the QoS for signal reach, stability or shall I get rid?

Thanks all!

@redeye2777 The generic AX3000 does not help in the slightest as it does not even say which model you have, QOS look at the Tp-Link site for anything that you need or problems that they have!

Typical sample below!

On a FF500 sky Connection!On a FF500 sky Connection!

@redeye2777

I also do some gaming and have had the Sky max hub since last December and my loaded latency consistently averages at around 20ms so no issues here.

So the max hub is capable of good ping therefore you need to investigate other possible causes of your bufferbloat issues.
