I've been trying to sign up to a 500 Mbps Fibre contract as a new user for the last hour. Have tried 3 different browsers but all I ever get is... "Sorry, we're having technical difficulties Unfortunately, we have not been able to proceed with your order. Please try again later."
Any ideas?

It's been months since this question was posted and it still doesn't work.
Phoning means not being able to use a cashback site for a deal. Will their site EVER work??

So if u call to place the order cause it keeps crashing out like it has for me like 10 times every time I tried last few days.. I won't get the Quidco cashback.. seems sus

I have exactly the same problem as the OP and when I call Sky, they offer me a deal with a much higher price and say that they can't do anything about the "Sorry, we're having technical difficulties. Unfortunately, we have not been able to proceed with your order. Please try again later." problem.
'I can't offer you the online price, because we are not online' is the answer I get, to which I respond: "But I am trying to complete it online, and your systems wont let me. All I want you to do is fix your 'technical difficulties' so that I can sign-up!"
What a waste of time!
