Switching from sky to VM

Hi, contract with sky is up, we want to remain having sky TV but have ordered virgin media broadband with an installation date of the 14th December.  Had a text from sky to say they are aware we are leaving sky broadband.  My query is will sky broadband stay on till at least the 14th December as I can't really afford for there to be any gaps in service.

thanks

@Ljnel  There is bound to be a break in service unfortunately that's the nature of broadband switching

Re: Switching from sky to VM

hi thanks for responding, yes I get maybe like a few hours or up to a day, but when I say gaps in services I mean like a week or so?  Will sky terminate the broadband service after 2 weeks or so they wait until the switchover to virgin happens , I can't seem to find a definitive answer to this anywhere

@Ljnel  Sky will have no knowledge of your virgin media situation and will terminate your sky connection once the notice period ends

sky uses the openreach network whilst virgin owns and uses their own network and aren't part of the switch service
