Superfast Fiber and VDSL connection only 25Mbit/s

In July 2024 I switched from Vodafone fiber to SKY only because of the lower price, previously I had no problems with the connection speed, after changing to SKY I did not pay special attention to the maximum connection speed, but in December I noticed that the maximum transfer of downloading files was only 2.8 Mbytes/s, previously in Vodafone I had at least twice as much. The IT specialist (I work remotely) checked in the router that VDSL is connected at 25 Mbit/s although I pay for the Sky Broadband Superfast connection. Is this a basis for changing the provider without incurring the costs of early termination of the contract. The issue of the slower connection that I have is becoming more and more frustrating for me. Thank you

25Mbps for a VDSL service is a superfast connection 

as it is a part fibre connection the speed is dependant on the length of the copper line from you house to the green street cabinet 

as the copper line degrades over time openreach can lower the maximum allowed speed to sacrifice speed for stability

Your stats show a slightly raised noise margin but not enough to make a significant increase in speed

What was the speed Sky quoted you when you signed up? it should be in your welcome email.

Looking at your router stats they look a bit slow for your line length but not awful.

Superfast is at least 60Mbit/s, I don't have Superfast 35

Thats incorrect. Superfast is whatever your line can handle, it completely depends on the quality of the copper & how far from the cabinet you are.

The 65mbps figure you see is the national average that Sky and other ISPs quote. This is not the guaranteed figure you will get.

Superfast is the old name before the products were separated into the 35 and 80 sub divisions 

the speed available for the package is dependant on what openreach decided is suitable for the length and they can choose to reduce it rather than replace a damaged or end of life copper line

Nothing has changed for me except the internet provider, with Vodafon I had about 60Mbit/s, previously I had Fiber with BT and I also had a similar speed.  Unfortunately, I did not find any information about the speed in the welcome email.

It could be a line fault then. The site @cookiemonsteruk mentioned earlier should tell us what your line should be performing to

Ok so it looks like the line is quite bad.  But sky are unlikely to task openreach to fix when full fibre fttp is available
